USE CASES

Fusariosis is a disease that affects heads of wheat and is characterized by major loss in yield and production of mycotoxins that render harvests unfit for consumption.

The solutions for fighting this disease are essentially chemical in nature and there are currently no credible biocontrol methods that meet the ecological requirements.

ADVANTAGES

The goal of the WHEATBIOCONTROL project is to develop a microorganism that has a biocontrol effect against the agent responsible for fusariosis.

This technology will reduce the use of chemical inputs by favoring biocontrol methods, and therefore meet the societal demand for more environmentally friendly solutions.

APPLICATIONS

The developed product will be used to protect wheat crops from fusariosis and will meet ecological requirements while maintaining maximum effectiveness.
