Type 2 diabetes is a major public health issue on a worldwide scale. This disease leads to a rapid and irreversible deterioration in the patient’s quality of life.
Pre-diabetes is an intermediate state of hypoglycaemia that is reversible, for which the treatments proposed are based on changing the way of life (physical activity, more balanced diet etc.) or drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes by acting on glycemia.
However, some patients are reluctant to use these molecules for preventive care and are looking for natural solutions.
AVANTAGES
The NOVATREAT technology is based on two natural innovative and active ingredients that are complementary or even synergetic: a postbiotic, a metabolic product derived from bacteria and plants, and a paraprobiotic, an inactivated bacterium naturally present in 90% of the population.
These molecules have both anti-hyperglycaemic and preventive anti-inflammatory effects.
APPLICATIONS
The objective of the NOVATREAT project is to develop a food supplement with known preclinical benefits in preventing type 2 diabetes, for prediabetic people.
NOVATREAT will offer a new preventive solution to the growing public health issue that type 2 diabetes represents in western societies.
