USE CASES

The project involves the creation of a miniature quartz resonator. Generally speaking, oscillators are the timekeepers of electronic systems, particularly all embedded systems.

A key application for this new resonator is time references for base stations in the future 5G mobile phone network, whose specifications in terms of accuracy, size, power consumption and environmental sensitivity are significantly higher than those of 4G.

ADVANTAGES

TF-PiMS aims to develop a miniature quartz resonator and optimise its associated manufacturing process. TF-PiMS offers significant gains in terms of volume, cost and power consumption, with performance levels that rival those of the best resonators currently available.

APPLICATIONS

The aim of the project is to meet the growing need for high-performance, small-sized, low-power oscillators, particularly for current embedded applications or future applications such as 5G base stations and autonomous vehicles.
